Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 July 2026

Plain-language summary. QReel makes QR codes on your device. We keep what we collect to a minimum, never sell your data, and only store your codes if you choose to sync them to an account.

This Privacy Policy explains how QReel ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the QReel app for iPhone, iPad and Mac and this website. By using QReel you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

How we use your information

Where your data is stored

When you sync to an account, your codes and account data are stored with our backend and database provider on secure, access-controlled servers. Data is encrypted in transit. We retain your synced data for as long as your account is active.

Scan tracking

Scan tracking is opt-in per code. When enabled, scanning a code routes briefly through our service to count the scan before forwarding to your destination. We aggregate these events into the analytics you see in the app. You can disable tracking or delete a tracked code at any time, which stops new data from being collected.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run QReel (for example, authentication, database hosting and the App Store) and only as needed to provide the service, or when required by law.

Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. You can delete individual codes in the app, or request full account deletion by emailing us. Where laws such as the GDPR or CCPA apply, we honor those rights for residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and other regions with comparable data-protection laws.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete saved codes at any time from within the app. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact [email protected] and we will process the request within a reasonable period.

Children's privacy

QReel is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
